Michelle D. Trauger was born in Holden, Massachusetts but raised primarily overseas where her mother worked for the Department of Defense Schools Europe.  Upon graduating from SHAPE American High School in Casteau, Belgium she moved to the United States to attend the University of Florida. After graduation Michelle was commissioned as an officer in the United States Army where she served in the Military Police.  She departed the Army and continued her career in security working as a government contract security officer at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. She quickly was promoted to shift supervisor, scheduler, and then placed in charge of the Reports and Analysis section where her administrative organizational skills were unsurpassed and credited with giving the section high inspection scores. With the development of the Joint Base Operating Contract that combined the government security contracts of Cape Canaveral Air Force Station and Kennedy Space Center, Michelle managed the NASA Federal Law Enforcement Training Academy along with the Security Training Branch, Combat Arms Training Facility, Security Awareness, Quality Control and Logistics functions.  She was then promoted to Deputy Commander of Security Operations, and responsible for supervising and coordinating the performance of 340 Security Officers and 23 supervisors engaged in normal launch and emergency activities on Cape Canaveral Air force Station and Kennedy Space Center. She also managed SWAT, Law Enforcement and K9 sections and performed functions as the senior on-scene Security Representative during emergencies. In 2002, Michelle was recruited by a government security contractor located in northern Virginia to perform as their Vice President of Administration overseeing Training, Recruiting, and Human Resources functions.  She later became Vice President of Operations which entailed oversight for federal and commercial contracts throughout the United States. Michelle provided direction and leadership to field project managers to effectively administer customer requirements ensuring they complied and enforced all applicable statutes, regulations, policies and procedures issued by the government/commercial clients. She was the company’s Facility Security Officer responsible for initiating and tracking personnel security clearances for classified contracts and for ensuring the safeguarding of information, equipment and technology. She also managed e-QIP investigations process for suitability adjudication determinations for personnel assigned to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) contracts.  Starting Dead Shot Security Training LLC is a way for Michelle to pass on her extensive security knowledge to others who wish to perform in the fast-paced ever-changing security industry.
